Patriot Motorsports Custom Oil Cooler Support Bracket

PatriotMS Oil Cooler Support Bracket | Impact bar delete: This bar removes the impact bar and allows for Porsche RSR Air-to-Oil cooler & relocation of the Transmission Aux heat exchanger.  The photos below show the OEM Crash bar with pad weight and the reduction by over HALF the weight with our custom support bar.  This system will also support front splitter mounts as well as flat closeout of the transmission heat exchanger to eliminate additional unwanted airflow under the front of the car which affects cooling and handling!

The new part comes with dual tow-hooks (mostly for transport safety and secure trailer tie-down simplicity), full width debris screen, and black powder coating finish.

We started with the heavy GMS Impact bar that had to be cut & modified to work with the proper Porsche RSR Oil Cooler.  Removing the airflow restrictive aluminum OEM Impact Bar and adding a steel bar that had a maximum opening of 22", restricted the full width of the ZL1 grill opening.  So I designed a wider and more developed support system for the oil cooler with a focus of actual track use.  Our latest design is made from structural aluminum and reinforced to have zero flex but at the same time, HALF THE WEIGHT of the GMS Impact bar and also offers the option of ELIMINATING the transmission Aux Cooler!!  This is a huge gain in controlling the aerodynamics and adding more frontal downforce by eliminating the huge hole of hot airflow under the front end of the car!  Initial testing at Carolina Motorsports Park, VIR, Road America, Lime Rock Park and Charlotte Motor Speedway have proven this new design will increase downforce without the drag associated with a larger front end splitter.  

At the same time as we are reducing significantly the airflow under the car, while increasing the airflow through the SCHX to reduce MATs and the engine's radiator temperature which results in dropped Engine Coolant Temps to be just over thermostat levels.

Additionally, we can add the option for structural mounts to securely attach a splitter for more downforce, three upper attachment points for splitter rods and dual tow-hooks for those who trailer their cars.
